Lake Manyara, nestled in Tanzania’s Great Rift Valley, is a small alkaline lake within Lake Manyara National Park. Recognized for diverse ecosystems, the park hosts elephants, giraffes, zebras, and over 400 bird species, including flamingos. From lush groundwater forests to open savannah, the landscape provides a picturesque scene against the Rift Valley escarpment. Established in 1960, visitors can enjoy game drives and bird watching, making Lake Manyara a distinctive and rewarding safari destination.

Tour Plan

Day 1 Drive to Lake Manyara

The tour starts with lunch in Arusha town at 1230hrs. 1400hrs, drive to Lake Manyara.

Dinner and overnight at the lodge/hotel.

Day 2 Game drive in Lake Manyara National Park

Enjoy a morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park whose inhabitants include hippos, monkeys, tree climbing lions, flamingos and other varieties of birdlife. Lunch at the lodge. Then drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 3 Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Today you will descend 2000 feet (over 600 meters) to the floor of the crater for crater tour. Explore the forest areas that are inhabited by monkeys and elephants, the lake area, where you may see the flamingos and the open savannah where the lions hunt for food. Picnic lunches will be served in the crater.

Dinner and overnight at the lodge in Ngorongoro

Day 4 Drive back to Arusha

After breakfast. Drive back to Arusha. Lunch in Arusha town.
