The 118,000-hectare private Sapi Concession was awarded to Great Plains Conservation to manage and look after in 2016 and was immediately converted to operating as a private photographic reserve.
This amazing wildlife sanctuary, along with the neighboring Mana Pools National Park, now comprise over 337,000 hectares of prime protected wilderness. Collectively they form part of a UNESCO World
Heritage Site as well as the core of the Middle-Zambezi Biosphere Reserve.
OVERNIGHT: TEMBO PLAINS CAMP
Tembo Plains Camp is built into the thick riverine forest located on the Zambezi River’s edge. The camp fits into our highest level brand, the Réserve Collection of camps alongside our other camps like Zarafa Camp, Selinda Camp, Duba Plains in Botswana; Mara Nyika, Mara Plains and ol Donyo Lodge in Kenya.
It is also a proud member of Relais & Châteaux – the only camp in the whole of Zimbabwe given this honour.
Tembo Plains has four suites plus a beautiful 2-bedroomed family Tembo Suite, ideal for two couples, a family or a couple looking for the ultimate private safari.
Guests have the opportunity to experience up-close encounters with elephant, lion, leopard, hyena, wild dog, buffalo, eland, zebra and other ungulate species. Explore the Zambezi River by canoe and boat, watch as wildlife congregates along the river to drink and marvel at the setting of the African sun.
2 nights at Victoria Falls Safari Club in a Club Room on a bed & breakfast basis.
Victoria Falls Safari Club is an exclusive 20-room boutique hotel overlooking the Zambezi National Park, with a central guest area featuring a modern fine dining restaurant, lounge, bar and viewing deck.
Facilities include a two-tiered swimming pool, featuring a 15m lap pool, sundeck and gazebo and a fitness room.
Situated within the magnificent grounds of the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge resort, this luxury club is a place where African history and the enchanting power of nature blend with exotic modern comforts and brings an atmosphere of exclusive African distinctiveness.
The 16 Club rooms and 4 Club suites offer luxurious accommodation with uninterrupted views of unspoilt bushveld and spectacular African sunsets. Safari Club residents have access to all existing services and facilities on the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge resort, but no other resort residents have access to the Club wing, thus ensuring total exclusivity.
Words frequently fail to capture the grandeur of Victoria Falls, inspiring visitors as much today as it did David Livingstone in the 1860’s, who named the Falls after the reigning queen at the time.
Famous for being the largest sheet of falling water and referred to by the locals as ‘Mosi-oa-Tunya’ which can be translated as The Smoke That Thunders, referring to the beautiful white mist that is a result of the waterfall’s spray as well as the roaring sound the water makes as it thunders down.
Travelers come from far and wide to tick this experience off their bucket list.
Spanning nearly two kilometers and dropping about 108 meters, this UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site is the largest waterfall in the world—thanks to the sheer volume of water cascading over its crags every minute.
Situated almost halfway along the Zambezi River Victoria Falls is the travel hub for Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana.
The small Victoria Falls town is home to fantastic hotels and lodges and provides many adventure activities to partake in as well as charming cafes, restaurants, and bars to mingle with locals and other travellers.
