Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest volcanic caldera in Tanzania, captivates with its dense wildlife population and a unique blend of conservation and Maasai culture. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it hosts iconic species such as lions and elephants, drawing visitors to experience guided game drives amidst its breathtaking landscapes. In contrast, Tarangire National Park, covering 2,850 square kilometers, stands out with diverse ecosystems, including the Tarangire River and iconic baobab trees. Known for a large elephant presence and seasonal migrations, the park offers a rich safari experience, featuring game drives, walking safaris, and birdwatching against the backdrop of its distinct natural beauty.
Tour Plan
The tour starts with lunch in Arusha town at 1230hrs. 1400hrs, drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Dinner and overnight at the lodge in Ngorongoro.
Today you will descend 2000 feet (over 600 meters) to the floor of the crater for crater tour. Explore the forest areas that are inhabited by monkey and elephant, the lake area, where you may see the flamingos and the open savannah where the lions hunt for food. Picnic lunches will be served in the crater.
Dinner and overnight at the lodge in Ngorongoro
After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park arriving in time for lunch and an afternoon of game viewing. Lesser kudu, eland, lion and gerenuk can be found in this beautiful park, noted for its multitude of baobab trees and its tree-climbing lions. Dinner and overnight at the lodge
Enjoy an early morning game drive in the Tarangire National Park. Breakfast at the lodge, followed by the drive back to Arusha with game viewing en route. Lunch in Arusha town
